Second Week of Class Interventions
After the results of the first week of class delivery to students, and the observations developed later in the last meeting, a new week of classes was scheduled from October 28th to November 1st. As it was suggested in the previous reflection meeting, the researchers assigned to the classes designed activities with the aim of involving the students in learning the use of present perfect in written activities. In this week, a new written practice was applied, fill in the blanks.
During this meeting, the researchers concluded the following:
The research team observed that class preparation improved significantly this time, with more time spent researching additional resources and organizing activities to better align with learning objectives. They noted that a brief review of previous material at the beginning could have further supported students in making connections to new content. The classes were logically structured, progressing from simple to more complex concepts, and dividing each lesson into sections—introduction, practice, and review—helped maintain a smooth flow. While students generally understood the instructions and objectives, some required additional clarification during the practice activity, suggesting that emphasizing key instructions before starting would be beneficial.
The team also found that the language used in the sessions was clear and appropriate for students’ language levels. To foster more student participation, they agreed to actively encourage students to ask questions through the established communication channels during the first week of intervention. Lastly, the resources used, such as visual aids and worksheets, were effective in reinforcing lesson objectives, with the worksheets especially helpful in solidifying key concepts and guiding students through practice activities.
